Return to the Church...

I recently felt the need to return to the (Roman) Catholic Church. Here are some of the reasons:
  1. My faith needed uplifting and revitalizing
  2. My children need a good spiritual role model(s)
  3. My husband inspires me and I want to help him in his journey
  4. I don't want my mom to feel like my 12 year Catholic school education was wasted
  5. I need God in my life to guide me in the right direction in ALL aspects of my life
  6. I feel the Holy Spirit in me and I want to share it with everyone (without acting like the typical "Holy-Roller")
  7. Fellowship is necessary in my life, particularly those who understand and share my faith

After straying from my born-and-bread faith, it was my non-Catholic husband who inspired me to take another look. His ever increasing faith has affected me in the most positive way! He is interested in going through the RCIA (Rites of Christian Initiation of Adults) to become Catholic. He will receive his baptism (as he was not baptized as a child), along with other sacraments including Communion and Marriage.

Since I was a little girl, I have wanted to get married, raise children and be a homemaker. Although I have not (yet) been blessed by giving birth my my own biological child, I have been extremely blessed to have the opportunity to raise my two step-children on a (mostly) daily basis. They are awesome and I don't know what I would do without them. They definitely keep me grounded and bring me immeasurable joy...even when they drive me crazy! I am constantly amazed by them and I am lucky to have them as part of my life.

I look at Catholicism as a gift, as a privilege and as a blessing. God allows and encourages all of us to take part in His "Good News" and His extreme love. I am ready to re-receive it! God is Good. Amen.
